The Celebrity Series will feature the premiere of a quartet by MIT composer Keeril Makan.  The piece was co-commissioned by the Celebrity Series and will be performed by the Pacifica Quartet.  The SOLD OUT performance is on Wednesday, October 24 at Pickman Hall.

“When we began our conversations with the Longy School of Music about our new collaboration on a debut series, the Pacifica String Quartet was an obvious choice for all of us. The Pacifica’s are well loved in the Longy community, having been the quartet-in-residence at the school for three years. We have also invited Anthony McGill, the principal clarinetist for the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, to join the quartet, and also commissioned a new piece by composer Keeril Makan to mark the occasion.”
–Gary Dunning, Celebrity Series Executive Director
