50th Anniversary Gala Concert / 6th Annual Herb Pomeroy Memorial Concert. MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble, Frederick Harris, Jr., music director, MIT Alumni Jazz Band, MIT CMS Jazz Combo, MIT Vocal Jazz Ensemble, and guest pianist Steve Kuhn. Featuring the world premiere of From Forever, Suite for Big Band, a piece by Chick Corea dedicated to Herb Pomeroy and written for this occasion. The event is sold out. Funded in part by the Council for the Arts at MIT.
